Gottlieb, 1979
Solar ride gets more play than any of the videogames, maybe because it was the only pin in the collection, or maybe just because it's a lot of fun.
This machine has been in my family since the late 80s. It already had the System 1 ground mods done when it came to me, and was playing well. I replaced one of the score displays, installed new rubber, and waxed the playfield. I also swapped the backbox lights and non-visible playfield GI bulbs for warm white Comet LEDs.
I managed to track down a very-rare pcb for the Gottlieb System 1 high score save board. I purchased the other components and assembled the board (including SMD soldering), and now the battery is not needed!
